Two hours a day, six days a week, in a group of eighteen. Not a school and not a tuition class — the place a child goes when home has one room and no table.

A child who is hungry does not learn. A child who cannot see the board is not slow. A mother with no income of her own is the strongest single predictor in our data of a child leaving school. None of these four works on its own, which is why we stopped running them as if they did.
The list
Learning centres take the largest share, the kitchen the next. Health and livelihoods are small lines that make the other two work.

In a year, that is
₹2,500
Which pays for any one of these
Alternatives, not additions. The same rupee cannot buy a meal and a school kit, and a calculator that adds them up is lying to you.
After 80G, it costs you
₹2,500
On the new regime, section 80G gives you nothing. This trust is not one of the centrally-notified funds that survive there, so the donation costs you exactly what you give.
